26 June 2009 - another update
http://pimpmypre.com has taken off! I'm surprised how easy the code is to create applications. We produced our first app and I lost track of the downloads because it virally spread all over the net. We have a lot of registered users now and people wanting to develop so that's awesome.
On other fronts - still going strong with Amy. We took the house off the market - there's just too many deals to be had with the economy the way it is so nobody has to pay market value right now. It was worth a shot. We'll just have to expand this place I guess!
Hope you're all doing well!
Mitch
14 May 2009 - UPDATE
Amy and I have been together over 8 months now, and have lived together for the last 3. It's going GREAT! Together, we have the Brady Bunch - 3 boys and 3 girls, so we're looking for a bigger house. My place is on the market and there are a lot of deals out there, so hopefully we'll get into something soon!
We both agreed that neither of us ever wants to get married again, so we're going to keep it as just living together. Makes life simple and, I think, makes you respect the person you're with a little more. That piece of paper changes everything for some people. We have a showing tonight, so back to finish work and trying to pick up the house. Sorry I haven't been around, but you can imagine how busy we are!
Oh, opened up a new website too -

We're going to develop applications for the new Palm Pre mobile phone when it comes out. Exciting stuff!
4 Dec 2008 Update: It's been almost 3 months and Amy and I are still going strong! It's funny how I ended up meeting the girl next door at 36. Vegas was a blast and a nice break from the kids, but I'm back doing the dad thing again. Almost done Christmas shopping thanks to Black Friday, coffee and Amy to help drag me around. Sorry it's been awhile since I logged on, but you know how it is!

UPDATE: OK, latest news - Amy and I have been seeing each other for just over 3 weeks now and it's still going great! We both have the same silly, quick wit and hardly anyone else seems to get it. We hang out and just laugh for hours about the dumbest things. Example? On our first night out, we went to play pool and have a couple drinks. A band was playing and we stopped to listen to the music. I sat on a tall stool and she stood in front of me with my arms around her. About halfway through a very bad rendition of 4 non-blondes "What's Up?", I leaned forward and whispered in her ear, "You are the Best (pause) Neighbor (pause) EVER."
Her birthday is on Thursday - she's getting a medal with that engraved on it.
Quick and dirty - Single dad, father of 4 & they live with me. Just as my profile says, I'm a wishful thinker; that explains having been married twice already. :P HA! Never give up.
I'm a software engineer in Va Beach and I work from home, mostly, so I get to spend a lot of time with my kids. We have a lot of fun together and my days and nights are packed full. I co-own a web development business with some friends and, although it's more work, it's fun too.
I love my kids, I love my job - no, I really do, house, friends, etc.. I just wish there were more hours in the day to get things done.
I did this just to see the results. Curious, now, to see if anyone has a 100 percent match. Also, do you think the results fit you? Mine seem to be spot on. I do change mine from time to time though, to see if my different moods change the outcome.
If you're ok with friends only, then say hi!
Y para los que solamente hablan espanol, escribame por favor! Necesito practicar! Yo lo hablo bueno, y lo escribo asi. Si quieres, puedo ayudarte con su ingles y puedes ayudame con mi espanol! Gracias!
More about me: -Testing the limits of this area - why not, I have a few minutes until dinner is ready and I'm avoiding the laundry room successfully
I hate popcorn, but I'll eat it anyway.
When I make Italian food, I make way too much - especially lasagna and spaghetti.
I try to minimize the buttons I push on the microwave, for instance, if the box says 1 minute and a half, I hit 90 and save myself one button push. I've even figured out that, for anything under 4 minutes, it's quicker to just push the minute button multiple times.
I drive a minivan but my heart lies with my old Jeep.
I listen to any music and like it, but I never know any of the words, who sings it or the name of the song.
I let people merge in traffic and I don't flip them off.
I'm bluntly honest and I sometimes piss people off like that.
I have made macaroni and cheese a thousand times, but I read the instructions every time and I don't know why.
I have an awful voice, but I will sing - out loud - in public places, like the grocery store, because I just don't care.
I hate driving on short trips, especially if I have a time line or it's somewhere I have to go.
I am a great passenger - I don't care how you drive.
I have a chain reaction thought process - I ended up thinking how ironic it was that if you eat too much bacon, pork chops and ribs that they put a pigs heart in you by looking at my coffee pods (don't make me relive that chain for you).
I re-fill plastic water bottles, not because of conservation guilt, but because I think the water from my fridge 'tastes' better - as if water had a taste.
I subscribe to the paper, I never have time to read it, and I then recycle it and feel good about myself for recycling - never mind the trees they cut down for a paper I don't even read.
I record the television shows I like to watch and then forget to fast forward the commercials.
I will fast forward a kids movie if they're not paying attention.
I say to myself, "They're just kids", about a thousand times a day.
I like to people watch.
I hate people watching me.
I can be hypocritical at times. :)
I make up words.
I am an extroverted introvert.
I am Ironman(just seeing if you were paying attention)
Does it matter? It's not about me!
To explain, here's my schedule.
Up at 4:30 and the kids are now waking up about 5.
We hang out, eat and I drop them at Day Camp about 6:30.
My oldest is with his mom for the summer. I go into the office, usually, and work until 11 or so.
I pick up the kids before 12, feed them lunch, lay them down for naps and finish out my day working from home.
I finish sometime between 4 and 5 then make dinner.
We eat, I spend a little quality time with them, bathe them and then put them to bed around 8 or 8:30.
That gives me about an hour to clean up, laundry, work on the web business or whatever and I go to bed by 9:30. Yeah, I'm old!
I like to do these things that I never have time for anymore - jog, hike, geocache, play soccer and relaxing half a day reading a good book. I do get to blog, and that's about the extent of it. Even then, that's usually about the kids. You can read it at http://blog.mrmitchmitchell.com, that's MrMitchMitchell.com
And in the spirit of the political season, my friends and I made:

Most recent event in my life:
I did shave my head recently! I love how it feels.
It's on the gallery page of my personal site.
