Hey, I'm Mikey. physical characteristics: average hight, lean athletic build, brown hair and eyes, caucasian.

I live in Southern California, and interact with many people.I'm a people person, and rather strongly dislike working. Everybody I know says I'm goofy, upbeat, and willing to do just about anything: I enjoy adrenaline rushes and REALLY want to go skydiving. I try to find the humor in EVERYTHING, keep things funny, enjoyable, exciting, even when in reality the situation is depressing or difficult. I also don't believe in censoring of any sort. I say what I think and believe, no matter how tactless it may be, and think everybody else should do the same. When I party, I party HARD and usually end up inebriated and passed out somewhere, with minimal clothing on.


GUESS WHAT?! I JUST GOT ACCEPTED TO CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY AT FULLERTON!!! WOOOOOOOO!!!

^ Update: originally, the school I wanted to attend was Cal-State Long Beach, because they have an outstanding music program and I was going to be a composition major. However, I have realized that I would rather pursue a degree in economics, as it is a subject of great interest to me, and it would serve me better than a music degree when looking for a job. As Cal-State Fullerton recently opened a brand new business department, I will most likely attend it instead of Long Beach.

further update [as of April 27, 2009]: I have registered as an undergraduate at Cal-State Fullerton. I'm now officially a Titan! My declared major is Economics. I recently went to "Welcome to Cal-State Fullerton Day", a sort of open house, and it looks really cool.

music. It's my number one. I spend most of my waking hours playing and composing it, and have been playing bass for 7 years. Music is my life. My interests include everything from Death Metal to progressive rock to jazz fusion to classical to techno. Not big on rap though...

I also enjoy reading, snowboarding, pranks, jokes, parties, scuba diving, bowling, and strong beer.

my favorite books are the Hitchiker's Guide to the galaxy, Catch-22, and 1984. As you can probably tell, I LOVE satire, irony, and sarcasm. I find them hilarious.

In relation to literature [and everything else for that matter], I like anything and everything that makes me think. I consider myself to be a deep thinker about just about everything, especially pertaining to more abstract concepts like ethics, the meaning and purpose of life [I currently believe that there isn't any inherent purpose to existence or the universe, everything we see, do, and feel is coincidence], and religion [working through the hypocrisies, truths, contradictions, and benefits of religion].

My own personal religious view closely resembles my thoughts on existence: There is no guiding force, being, or intelligence that preconceives or governs [our own pitiable world is poignant evidence of this] the universe, like I previously stated, we as humans are a coincidence eternally adrift upon a sea of coincidences. Rather than taking a readily attainable nihilistic disposition on this belief, though I find that this merely completes our status as an inherently free and individual race of beings. We can reach for the stars or drown in our own sorrow as we see fit. Personally, I think that all humans should strive for achievement, and that in order to make my own life matter in the universe, I need to somehow contribute to humanity: to advance it in some way, whether that be through a scientific triumph or humanitarian gesture or some work of musical genius that somehow brightens the lives of millions. A rather far reaching goal, I admit, but I'll see how I do in time :)

I also love goofing off in general. People who take things too seriously are an abhorrent bane upon society.
